A confounding portrayal of the World War 2 leader behind the myth of Winston Churchill. A gripping presentation of the interactions between U.S. General Dwight Eisenhower, British Field Marshall Montgomery, Prime Minister Churchill, and his aid-de-camp Field Marshall Jan Smuts in the days leading up to the D-Day invasion of France. The key role of Churchill's wife, Clementine, in steadying her husband by their deep love is revealed. This is not a World War 2 "action" movie.
