First off, I am INCREDIBLY protective of Miss Quinzel as a character. When I saw the sketches of The New 52 design, I was less than enthralled with the route that was taken. Suddenly, my quirky little psychiatrist transformed into some sexpot derby girl. Baring that in mind, I did not have high hopes for this first volume. I will be the first to admit I was wrong. not only did we get new insight to our beloved little psycho, but we get to see her without her paramour, Mister J. One of the best bits in this volume, is that we get to see the dynamic between Harley and Poison Ivy. (This is an added touch of "are they together together?" I vote yes.) This volume really focuses on the best part of Harley's twisted personality- she's just downright fun. I actually found myself laughing out loud numerous times. I should also add that the only "true" Harley for me is the Bruce Timm design- he actually illustrated a page in the volume in a segment devoted to different artists' depictions of our crazed cutie. So, give it a shot. If you like it, there's more! If you don't, eh, Preludes and Knock-knock Jokes it is!
