At first I was worried that this was a book where someone is suffering from a terrible loss that then turns into a book about getting a guy. It turned out to be a lot more complex than that. Lennie is never going to stop missing Bailey, and her family is never going to feel complete. No guy is going to change that, but they can support her her as she navigates her new life after a loss. The book gives glimpses of Bailey, and its enough to show how complicated Lennie’s feelings towards her sister are. There’s a lot of whimsy and quirkiness in the book, but it somehow manages not to seem out of place.
