Add a CommentThe Heffley family unexpectedly receives an inheritance, giving them a chance to make some changes to their lives. The family decides to make changes and renovate their house. They soon run into a variety of troubles. Toxic mold, disgusting critters, and rotten wood soon have Greg and his family thinking if their decision was worth it. Once again, Greg and his family's struggles catalyze a lot of humor. The way Greg and his family interact and deal with one another throughout the story also added to how engaged I was when reading the story. Overall, the Wrecking Ball is a great and funny book due to all of these elements.
Kyang should have rated it a 5 star
After receiving a decent amount of inheritance from their great aunt Reba, Greg and his family aspire to remodel their house. However, because of a gigantic hole cut in their house to an infestation of wasps and mice, they eventually decide to buy a new house. They have to sell their current house in order to do so, but after an unsuccessful selling due to the buyers’ realization of the infestation of critters, they are left with no choice but to stay at their home. At the end of the day, Greg and his family are back at where they started. This book would be a funny and relaxing read to all people, regardless of age. Kinney effectively uses humor and misfortune to describe Greg’s life as simply put as possible. If you’re looking for a fun book to read, this definitely won’t disappoint.
