Very engaging, interesting to read, vivid descriptions. I had to take breaks to look up pictures online quite often, overall a fascinating look at biological and cultural histories of bone.

Brian Switek educates and entertains with Skeleton Keys. His easy writing style draws you in to his fascination with bones, fossils and the explanation of the evolution of vertebrates. Past and current are knit together with his insight into the issues of racial profiling, colonialism, and the ethics of the bone trade, which continues today. This is a worthwhile read.
