The Perfect Weapon

War, Sabotage, and Fear in the Cyber Age

In 2015, Russian hackers tunneled into the computer systems of the Democratic National Committee, and the emails they stole may have changed the course of American democracy. That same year, the Russians not only had broken into networks at the White House, the State Department, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, but had placed implants in American electrical and nuclear plants that could give them the power to switch off vast swaths of the country. American had become collateral damage as China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia battled in cyberspace to undercut one another in daily just-short-of-war conflict. Sanger shows how the rise of cyberweapons has transformed geopolitics. -- adapted from dust jacket.

This is a wake up America book. As it points out America better wake up and they better do it fast.

I have a lot of problems with Sanger's book and his research and opinions, ostensibly based upon said research. Firstly, the overwhelming hack assaults have come from China, and something like six individuals have recently been arrested for spying for China [who were with the CIA, DIA, NSA and private contractors].
Secondly, Sanger in a recent interview repeated the false narrative: // Everybody thought Hillary was going to win the election. \\
Sorry, charlie, but it was a rather short time ago, and I read the same reliable surveys as everyone else: If Trump runs against Bernie, Bernie was forecast to win.
If Hillary runs against Trump, Trump was predicted to win.
End of that piece of revisionistic crap, Sanger!
