The twisty new thriller from the New York Times bestselling author of The Couple Next Door and A Stranger in the HouseA weekend retreat at a cozy mountain lodge is supposed to be the perfect getaway . . . but when the storm hits, no one is getting awayIt's winter in the Catskills and Mitchell's Inn, nestled deep in the woods, is the perfect setting for a relaxing—maybe even romantic—weekend away. It boasts spacious old rooms with huge woodburning fireplaces, a well-stocked wine cellar, and opportunities for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or just curling up with a good murder mystery. So when the weather takes a turn for the worse, and a blizzard cuts off the electricity—and all contact with the outside world—the guests settle in for the long haul. Soon, though, one of the guests turns up dead—it looks like an accident. But when a second guest dies, they start to panic. Within the snowed-in paradise, something—or someone—is picking off the guests one by one. And there's nothing they can do but hunker down and hope they can survive the storm.

This novel is a real page-turner, I could not put it down!

I thought this was a decent book and story. As someone else said, it is hard to guess who the killer is because certain things are omitted until the end where they reveal the killer’s background. It’s an enjoyable read though, I read the book in one day lol

Sadly, this one isn’t my favorite. It’s started getting really cheesey. Her other books are better, so don’t give up on this author if this is the first you have read.

Like an Agatha Christie-a fun read for a dreary afternoon.

Hmmmm....don't know what to say really. Definitely LOTS of repetition. There is suspense and build up. Not so sure about the ending. Kind of anti-climatic.

If you are an Agatha Christie fan, don't bother to read this takeoff.

This is the best of her three books.

I always say you can tell a good mystery by the number of bodies. Too many bodies and you have a poor story. This book has 5 for a ridiculous plot with shallow characters and plenty of repetition.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love a good thriller and this kept me guessing. I’m surprised at the variety of comments!

I have read many books, some excellent and some poor. I can honestly say this was the worse book I ever read. For a former English teacher her prose is laughable. Dialog between characters made me cringe. Plot is ludicrous.
