Under the stars, in a secret world... Rowena, the youngest of twelve sisters, loves to slip out of the castle at night and dance in a magical forest. Soon she convinces her sisters to join her. When Sir Ethan notices that his daughters' slippers look tattered every morning, he is certain they've been sneaking out. So he posts a challenge to all the suitors in the kingdom: The first man to discover where his daughters have been is free to marry the one he chooses. Meanwhile a handsome young knight named Bedivere is involved in a challenge of his own: to return the powerful sword, Excalibur, to a mysterious lake. While looking for the lake, Bedivere meets the beautiful Rowena and falls for her. Bedivere knows that accepting Sir Ethan's challenge is the only opportunity for him to be with Rowena forever. But this puts both Bedivere and Rowena in a dangerous in which they risk their lives for a chance at love.

I forgot this fairy tale (12 Dancing Princesses) existed until I read this version in the 'Once Upon A Time' series and I've never been so excited to be reminded of something. The suspense and drama added into the story made for a very thrilling read and motivated me to find other books based on the fairy tale - which lead me to "Entwined" a fantastic version of the story as well.

What's wonderful about these author's doing lesser known fairy tales - is that we the readers get the answer to the question 'Why'? A lot of older fairy tales that aren't as popular as "Beauty and the Beast" or "Cinderella" - get read today and often have us wondering why. Why would they dance?

I only read part of this book on a library website. So, I don't really what else the author wrote, but I like it so far. When I first heard of The Night Dance, I thought it would be similar to this other book, by Jessica Day George. So, I was fully prepared to judge the preview of what I read, to the other book.

This story was wonderfully rewritten and I found it to be an extremely good book full of interesting characters and a well put together plot.
