My only logistical problem with this book is...
"The Grace of Kings" was in intensely long read, and by the time "Wall of Storms" came out I had completely forgotten what exactly had happened. Still, I really liked this book, and GoK, because both look into the political side of things (which, to be honest, most fantasy books for YA don't do... and it gets on my nerves. COME ON!!! GIMME THE SLANDER!)

CHARACTERS: I like Gin the best, but all of the characters are wonderful and they each come out when they need to, and all of the people are really beautiful and unique. I loved the relationship between the Empress and the second wife and I thought that, as usual, the characters build on the culture just as the culture builds off the characters.

PLOT: ... Brilliant. Ruddy BRILLIANT. I never would have come up with something like that.

ACCURACY: Ken Liu has got accuracy down. (He builds models for his fictional inventions, like, you go, dude!) Everything technical is thought down to the tiniest detail, and, honestly, it's amazing. These books are so accurate within their world, it's... amazing.

RECOMMENDATION: If you like good fantasy, read this! If you like silkpunk, READ THIS. These books are crafted by a master, and they remain one of my favorite series ever. (Also, Ken Liu is really nice, so be nice to him and read his book!)

I've only read 1/3 of this book so far... and I have to say that the 1st quarter of the book was my favorite! The story this time involves a new female character, and is much more—well, much less— head whacking and hacking. Complex, political, quiet. This author is truly building a dynasty. Admirable, but the wars and gore are not my favorite.
