Detective Harriet Blue is looking for a serial killer. Her partner is one of the most hated cops and she can't get any other cops to give her any information because of him. I liked this book very much, but didn't like the way it ended. Have to get the next book to see what happens next.

I love these short stories as I can read them in a 2 hour time span. They are also easy to read as I believe they are set at about a grade 7 to 9 level. Book Shots, Rapid Reads, etc are books designed to be read fast. They are around 150 pages. This one is worth reading if you are into detective books. A good time waster with no more time spent than watching a movie.

On the back cover, it asks if Harriet Blue is as great a Detective than Lindsay Boxer. I can assure you she is not.

It's a fairly good, fast-paced story, but has a couple glaring factual errors that really are inexcusable & quite annoying. No bank employee, much less the manager, would make a large withdrawal for an unknown "customer" without checking the id AND the signature card - especially when that "customer" didn't know basic information about how the account was set up! And you don't become manic-depressive from a bad environment - it's caused by a brain-chemical imbalance, not one's attitude or experiences - & it's not something you "catch" like the flu.

This very brief little book is basically just an introduction to the characters. Expect more to follow.

This book you can read in 2 hours which is nice when you have only a short time to read. It introduces the reader to Harriet Blue a detective looking into the murder of a woman found on the bank of the river. Blue expects it to be one killer and its someone else. A fast short read!
