"Thomas Jefferson stands falsely accused of several crimes, among them infidelity and disbelief. Noted historian David Barton now sets the record straight. Having borne the brunt of a smear campaign that started more than two centuries ago, the reputation and character of American president Thomas Jefferson shows considerable tarnish, as lies and misunderstandings have gathered on his legacy. Noted early-America historian David Barton scours out the truth. Jefferson and Sally: Did he really have children by his slave, Sally Hemings? Jefferson and Jesus: Did he really abandon the faith of his family? Jefferson and the Bible: Did he really want to rewrite the Scripture? Jefferson and the church: Did he really advocate separation? Jefferson and slaves: What is the truth about his slaveholding and his statements that all are created equal? Jefferson and education: Did Jefferson really found the first secular, irreligious university? All of these questions deserve the cleansing light of truth. Barton has gone through the historical records, combed the original documents and letters, and examined the recent evidence, and his findings will upset the establishment. Barton shows the true man, the real Thomas Jefferson. Most readers will have the joy and surprise of meeting him for the very first time"-- Provided by publisher.

This book is a joke. Or would be if not accepted as "true" by so many conservatives.

This pseudo-historian wingnut has a track record of "re-writing" history in the best tradition of revisionism history in its most strongest style... and, as a rightwing wingnut, ALWAYS very strongly towards a very Ultra Right bias and agenda.

The fact of an "endorsement" by ultra conservative wingnut Glenn Beck itself speaks volumes. As to the Wikipedia articles, the "highly prejudiced article's", I checked all the ones that were directly or indirectly related to this book, the author, and even Beck... And found them to be quite well referenced and TRUTHFUL as I could determine based upon exhaustive research - often based on their on comments at some prior time).

Maybe this should have been listed as a novel and under the Subject heading of "Alternate Histories" and "Alternate Universes".

This is an interesting article that gives a different perspective than the nowadays imposed idea of "separation of church and state":

Barton's bunk . . .
Notorious pseudo-historian and far-right Christian conservative, David Barton, battles on the historical-revisionism front of the American culture wars. No credentials in history or law. Any hope of credibility is shredded by the fact that "tears-of-a-clown" Glenn Beck wrote the foreword, a detail curiously omitted from the BiblioCommons record despite his name clearly on the cover.

(Funny tongue-in-cheek comment, the one above. Because nobody would call a writer "notorious" seriously, c'mon!) What a wonderful book. Mr. Barton is to be commended by the great book he wrote, debunking the lies spread by Liberals. Read this interview with him: This book should be read by children too, so they learn the truth about the Founding Fathers--but the problem is that they don't even know who the Founding Fathers were... David Barton has a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious education from Oral Roberts University, and taught math and science (according to a highly prejudiced Wikipeida “article”).
