This is a fun release, these guys can still put out that hard driving rock like they did in the 70's,unlike a lot of bands of that era.The songs on this release are not the classic's of yore, but Rick Nelson can still pen a good song and play the shit out of it.They still are incredible musicians, and Robin Zander can still hit all the notes that are required, these 3 original guys (the human drum machine Bun E Carlos is out,but has been replaced by Rick's son who is even better!) are having way to much fun.

Bang zoom crazy, hello is a return to form, if you will, for one of the greatest rock'n'roll bands of all time. While some of their more recent releases (like 2009's The Latest) took a slightly more poppy, keyboard bent (not necessarily a bad thing), Bang zoom crazy, hello is all about guitars and drums and Robin Zander's incredible voice.

Zander is, IMHO, the greatest rock'n'roll singer of his generation. His range never seems to diminish, even in to CT's 6th decade of performing. He can be crooning one minute and then in to throat-ripping screams the next. Nielsen's guitars churn and crunch throughout, and Petersson and Rick's son, Daxx, keep the band's rhythm section pounding along. I was sad to see Bun E. depart the band, but Daxx fills in capably and blends in much like Bun E., probably no surprise since he grew up watching/listening to him.

Unlike many of their compatriots from the 70's and onward, Cheap Trick has continued to hammer out new material throughout their career that is as alive and vital as it was at the start, and BZC,H is no exception. Why it took them this long to be inducted in the R&R HOF (not that I care about that but come on . . . ) may only be due to the fact that never really stopped doing that!

If there's any miscues here it would be the cover of The In Crowd, which never seems to take off. So I'm taking a half star off of my otherwise 5 star impression of the album.

Can't recommend this album or this band enough.
