I love picture books whose characters are cute food with cute faces. This book is funny.
Bacon's enduring popularity finally goes to his head, or at least the top part of him, where his face is. Everything else in the mid-century diner where he lives has a face, too--from the toast to the coffee to the little containers of creamer. I would eat in this restaurant every day if I could. In fact, this book is so delightful it makes one want to be shrunk and turned into a breakfast food. Just not Bacon, because as it turns out, not unlike many a celebrity, in the end he is devoured by his popularity, if you get my drift.
A fun retro-look tale about what might happen when everybody loves you just a little too much.
