This book gives a good introduction to the process of doing genealogical research and covers how to do effective searches in Ancestry.com's collections such as the Card Catalog, Census Records and Voter Lists, Vital Records, Military Records, Immigration Records, and more. The book also provides guidance on creating a family tree on Ancestry.com and exploring genetic genealogy. The book's instructions for searching the various collections are also helpful for those using Ancestry Library Edition, the free database available at all Indianapolis Public Library locations as well as many other libraries.
