I liked this Biography Documentary DVD. It was comprehensive and informative. Documentary about Thomas Edison that explores the complex alchemy that accounts for the enduring celebrity of America's most famous inventor. It offers new perspectives on the man and his milieu, and illuminates not only the true nature of invention, but its role in turn-of-the-century America's rush into the future. I like his inventions he made; but, not everything he took credit for, was actually his work achieved. He was a bully to other inventors. He took credit for other peoples work very often. When he could not fairly compete due to his lack of formal education he maliciously attacked the character of other inventors. He violently killed and tortured live animals then blamed the deaths on his competitors. TE had a very big ego. TE was very self-centered and selfish. He did not have another woman in his marriage. But, the whole marriage for his two marriages, he ignored his wife and all his kids.

What a whitewash! No mention of Tesla, who worked for Edison, created AC power, refused to put up with Edison's lack of acknowledgement of the contributions of others. Please note that while his ability to record the voice brought him fame, he didn't create the phonograph as a real product. No mention of the French inventors who actually developed the motion picture camera and projector. And what about the sociopathic tendencies shown in electrocuting animals in his quest to overcome Tesla and Westinghouse, or when trying to enforce his patents against other artists. And what about the fact that DC was much more dangerous in a household than AC. I noticed that the talking heads in this "Documentary" had no background foundation in science or history to give their opinions any validity. WATCHER BEWARE!
