I read a cozy mystery when my life gets a bit hectic, and I really have enjoyed the Amish mysteries by Laura Bradford. The author has painted a great view of Amish country and the people who live there, both Amish and Engish, in a very respectful manner.
She also writes a good mystery. I thought I had figured it out early on, but I missed the twist that made even more sense at the end.
A delightful mystery that showcases aspects of the Amish lifestyle that extends well beyond the traditional garb and obvious horse and buggy. Bradford delves into the heart of the people, both English and Amish, and explores the similarities and the differences. Her descriptions of the small, idyllic town, with its English and Amish neighbors working side by side, have me ready to pack my bags, sell my house, and move to Heavenly Pennsylvania! The plot was intriguing and the ending a surprise. This third book in the series can be read as a stand alone. I only wish Claire's budding romance would advance a little faster!
