I read this book as it was recommended by the staff at the Glenrose hospital. I found it to be very condescending overall. The author's chapter on why she insists on using the term "child with autism" even though the large majority of Autistic adults prefer identity first language is indicative of her conceit. I do not recommend it. Read Uniquely human by Barry Prizant instead.
