Interesting balance between comedy and action at the beginning but full of suspense till the end!

WoW !!

The Koreans really know how to'bring it' in this creative and dramatic re-boot of the old Steve McQueen action film "The Towering Inferno".

The NYPL copy that I viewed had both good English dubbing and sensible English sub-titles.

This is an excellent addition to the disaster film genre. Basically a remake of 1973's The Towering Inferno, the setting is modern day Hong Kong (so there are subtitles). During a glitzy VIP only Christmas party a helicopter accidentally slams into one of the towers setting it ablaze. The special effects are amazing, and the characters likable enough for the viewer to care, along with a couple of hiss-worthy baddies. I did notice a couple of continuity errors (the glass bridging the two towers seems to have magically repaired itself just in time for a harrowing sequence, and an apartment building windows also repair themselves just in time for another action sequence), but overall this is a great movie.
