I put his recommendations into practice, cut out all animal products from my diet and lowered my total cholesterol from 187 to 136 in 2 and a half months. Works for me.

Although this book is thorough and informative, The author(s) write as though they are talking to a child, and repeat themselves constantly. I understand some parts are supposed to be a review of a point they have previously made but reciting the entire study multiple times becomes excruciating to read. i would recommend reading this book to be informed but if you don't want your more skeptical friends to feel like they are being preached at, I'd suggest a different book.

Not just the China study. Dr. T. Colin Campbell lays out the overwhelming empirical evidence for healthy eating in compelling detail. Whereas Dr. Campbell's critics and detractors wallow in animal food industry profits and subsidies. How anyone could doubt the credibility of Dr. Campbell's work is beyond me.

This book changed my attitude about health, medicine and nutrItion! I am embarking on a healty whole food plant diet, no more guttony, sugar addiction and endless struggle with weight control. So glad my accupuncturist Dr. Lin recommended the book, gladder I read the whole thing!

This is the most informative book on nutrition I have ever read. I did not find it dry and highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to take their health seriously. Colin Campbell is a hero!!

This book was so informative. A lot of it is research studies and pretty dry, but since it relates to health I powered through it and was glad I did. I have adopted the lifestyle this book recommends and have felt so wonderful eating such great foods! If you are serious about your health, read this book!

A great book for those interested in nutritional science and the effects of animal versus plant-based foods in the body.

This is not a self-help book, but rather a mountain of evidence towards to the conclusion that plant-based diets can powerfully overcome, prevent, and reverse some of the most common diseases and ailments in America. Be prepared for charts and descriptions of lengthy experiments, with only a tiny portion of the book dedicated to "how to" change your life.

Ironic that a report about a new study out of the very same university - Cornell - says the exact opposite today (30 Mar 16). Read for yourself at http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3515293/Vegetarian-diet-raises-risk-heart-disease-cancer.html. Just proves that the nutrition juggernaut is still in its infancy and every piece of advice should be taken with a grain of salt (pun intended). It will be years before we read something like "Eating a veggie diet absolutely, positively, undoubtedly, causes cancer."
Furthermore, Campbell doesn't have diabetes. I do and I know positively that today a small bowl of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries -- highly recommend by the ADA, AHA, NHS and virtually every nutrition 'expert-sans-diabetes' in the "powerful lobbies, government entities, and opportunistic scientists" out there -- shot my glucose to 200. The description says: "If we're obsessed with being thin more so than ever before, why are Americans stricken with heart disease as much as we were 30 years ago?", the same question Dr. Richard Bernstein, a type 1 for 80+ years, asks in his book. "The report also examines the source of nutritional confusion produced by powerful lobbies, government entities, and opportunistic scientists." The problem is carbohydrates - plain and simple. Read "Good Calories, Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes; "The Big FAT Surprise" by Nina Teicholz; "The Great Cholesterol Myth" by Drs. Johnny Snowden and Stephen Sinatra; and for people who prefer less textbook-like writing read "Breakthrough" by Thea Cooper and Arthur Ainsberg. It's a novel style work about the creation of human insulin.

This is a book about food research and its effects on the human body. IT is well written but can be dry. I do believe the research though. It might save your life. Good luck.....
