Silver linings playbook movie is a movie which is about a conflicted love story but also about battling with recovering and mental illness. Bradley Cooper plays the character of “Pat” who is battling bipolar disorder and he meets “Tiffany” who is played by Jennifer Lawrence and they start developing feeling for each other. This movie mainly focuses on mental illness and what people are doing to fight them and be free. I rate this movie a 5 out of 5 because of how everything was shown in it and the storyline was really good. @BirdieBooks of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper) recently gets out of a mental institution and tries to reunite with his wife, Nikki. Through this time, he meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence) who agrees to help him with this goal in exchange to help her with a dance. This is my favourite movie, its so well done and the acting is amazing. It really shows how mental health effects one’s life. You see the relationship between two people with mental health issues interact while they develop feeling for one another. It has so many positivity and good advice throughout. This is such a feel-good happy movie and would recommend watching it with others. 5/5 stars @EffyStonem of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board.

Another brilliant film written and directed by David O. Russell. He is a master of dialogue and character depth. Any film by Mr. Russell is well worth the experience because, there are no superheroes, just real people, that could be you or me. Check out American Hustle or Joy, both written by Mr. Russell, if you appreciate good writing and film making.

Great movie
Crazy characters reflecting mental illness and its acceptance by this family. Dad is obsessed with gambling. Main charachter tries to renter life and society, struggling with a mental and emotional trauma from betrayal by wife.

Great acting, fun, fast paced, wonderful dialogue, romantic story
Self discovery

Learning to live, love, be the best with family support, get over trauma
Family gets loud, but they all still love each other

Fun, silly, a bit violent, well acted

Really quite an extraordinary movie. Stellar performances from Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. And Robert De Niro is excellent.
But the main plus is the writing. It's an amazing piece on mental health and romance, and where the two meet. Insightful and clever and unapologetic.
And the question you inevitably ask: Who is how crazy?
We're all just humans doing the best with what we've got. I think this movie is a really useful addition to the dialogue.

Pat: The only way you can beat my crazy was by doing something crazy yourself. Thank you. I love you. I knew it the minute I met you. I'm sorry it took so long for me to catch up. I just got stuck.

Tiffany: "...Why did you order raisin bran?" Pat: "Why did you order tea?" Tiffany: "Because you ordered raisin bran." Pat: "I ordered raisin bran because I didn't want there to be any mistaking it for a date." Tiffany: "It can still be a date if you order raisin bran." Pat: "It's not a date."

Officer Keogh: "Hey, you're Tommy's widow, right?" Tiffany: "Yes, I'm Tommy's crazy whore widow. Minus the whore thing, for the most part." Officer Keogh: "You're a funny girl... You want to get a drink sometime?"
