The sole survivor of a Lake Superior shipwreck inspired this mystery. There's a murder at a lumber mill and militant conservationists making demands to halt further timber cutting. Then, enter a gambler and the shipwreck victim with a scheme of their own.
While this was as page-turning as the first two, the narrative got a little complicated and unbelievable to me. Simplify, simplify.
