Excellent British detective series. Actors are perfectly cast as police detectives - and make a great crime solving team.

Inspector Lewis is a great crime drama. It does at times deviate into the realm of fantasy, resembling the old Batman show where the perpetrator would leave an intricate tale of clues and riddles behind, but I am still eagerly looking forward to season five.

Love James Hathaway and Robbie Lewis. The Mind Has Mountains regarding Lewis and Hobson -did not care for the silly jealousy between these two in that story. Should be treated as adults it just didn't suit these two. I still like these two together. Thank goodness Hathaway isn't involved with someone.

Tried to renew but was on hold?

Mysterious deaths are intriguing, but the solutions don't make sense. In one episode, brutal murders based on Jacobean tragedies are solved when the detectives happen across the usual hidden room with photographs of the victims on the wall and poisoned bottles and the disguise hanging on the wall. Then they confront the murderer, who confesses. That's it. Is it so easy to plan and execute elaborate murders based on a theme as police surveillance increases? Also, the audience seems to be told to care for Inspector Lewis because female characters comment on how hard he is working, how much he gives of himself, and how other characters like the Det. Sgt. should "watch out for him." I like the Det. Sgt., but find little appealing about Ins. Lewis. Disappointing.

Inspector Lewis is a great series about an Police detective working in Oxford England. Produced by Masterpiece Mystery Theatre. Very well done.

Hathaway got more face time than Lewis in some of the episodes, no doubt to the delight of many viewers who couldn't get enough of those erudite quotes.

Another excellent season - Lewis and Hathaway are great. -their dialogue and witty repartee is great - and they are both played by really good actors ! This is absolutely one of the best ever detective series !

Good plots, dialogue for the most part. Love story between coroner and Lewis is a little lame, but the posh young detective is good.

Very good season! The 4 cases are darker, more complex this time around and the 3 main characters gain more depth, especially Lewis.
