Christian McKay is amazing in his portrayal of Orson Welles. Excellent acting all around from this talented cast. A fine slice of history & theatre.

after 25 minutes I wasn't drawn into this movie at all, so pushed the eject button.

Movie wasn't bad at all. It wasn't super exciting, but its about making a broadway play happen. And Zac doesn't hurt.

Had a hard time getting into this movie. Just don't think it was one for me.

Sex is discussed frequently. But, there is no actual nudity in this DVD. It presents Orson Welles as self-centered, dominating, controlling & arrogant. It has nothing nice to say about Orson. Orson uses people like pones on a chess board in this story from the perception of this teenager who acts on his crew. medium speed for action. The characters are strong. Strong story. Iffy for children to watch this DVD.

Orson Welles, Joseph Cotten, and the Mercury Theater. Welles never quite lived up to his early promise, and must have been very difficult to work with. But his staging of Julius Caesar as a mirror of contemporary Fascist politics was certainly a modernist coup which helped galvanize attention towards the rising horrors of totalitarianism abroad. Another unsung Richard Linklater gem.

We really enjoyed this movie. While it is a fictional story, I think it really gave a sense of the time and what the experience of working with Orson Welles would have been like. Good movie for people interested both in theater and in movies.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, particularly Christian McKay's portrayal of Orson Wells and surprisingly Zac Efron's performance also. The story is engaging and unfolds at a leisurely pace. Highly recommended.

strong acting from all involved makes this story enjoyable and utterly engaging throughout, a delightful piece of entertaining and accomplished fluff

An extremely enjoyable behind- the-scenes movie about Orson Welles' historic Mercury Theater and its first production, a modern version of Julius Caesar taking place in Mussolini's Italy. Christian McKay, a British actor in his first starring role, is astounding as Orson Welles. He's got the look, the commanding voice and its various inflections, and the super-sized ego. You'd swear you were watching the real thing.
