The movie was good and very suspenseful if you don't read the spoiler at the top of this page but I was not at all a fan of the ending. It felt like they took a well written story line and rushed the ending to fit a timeline.

A very very weird film... it seems like madness begets more and greater madness, which in turn begets insight into truth and love, and, when it does so shatters the original madness which really wasn't madness at all but was actually an elaborate crime, which finally brings one literally to the edge and the end.
Its worth re-watching, and when I do I will make use of the commentary for once.

THIS is what children need to be watching instead of comedy movies.

As someone that is scared of heights, I can totally relate to what the protagonist is going through. Good acting.

There are spoilers in the catalog's description of the plot.

Atmospheric, spooky and weird.. with a reaching conclusion that defies believably, but still somehow very re-watchable. Features an amazing score by Bernard Herrmann.

True Hitchcock masterpiece. They are elements of Jimmy Stewart's character that probably wouldn't sit well with audiences today but it is still a great film to watch Hitchcock use his genius. I also wish Kim Novak's eyebrows were different. They were very distracting! But, everything else is worth watching from the costumes, to the location and the effects. And the score, the music has to be one of the most amazing scores of all time! It is very obvious why Bernard Herrmann and Saul Bass are considered geniuses as well.

Great Hitchcock film with surreal special effects. Jimmy Stewart excellent as usual!

One, if not the best of Hitchcock's movies. Only " North by Northwest " comes close. A true cinematic masterpiece.

More of a psychological thriller. An acrophobic (fear of heights) detective (Jimmy Stewart) is hired by his friend to follow his wife (Kim Novak) who seems to be delusional. Which leads to more confusion as Jimmy falls in love with the wife. He always seems to end up in high places . . . hmmmm. Released in 1958, set in San Francisco, the mystery continues throughout, not really sure why they set-up Jimmy (he doesn’t seem to know why either) perhaps that is why the DVD container says it “demands multiple viewing.” When the story line confused me, I was completely distracted with Kim Novak’s eyebrows (painted on?) Worth a watch, if only to add to your multiple viewings or to enjoy San Francisco in the 1950s.
