Tough Plants: Unkillable Plants for Every Garden by Sharon Amos
This is a relatively small book but it packs a lot of information, much of which isn’t new to most gardeners but may be to the novice: how to prepare a bed for planting; how to amend soil so that it’ll be more to your plants liking.
And then comes the meat of this book: the plants that can’t be killed. For the veteran gardener many of these may be old friends: Hens and Chicks; Cranesbill; Dead Nettle to name but a few. And then there are others with which we may not be quite as familiar: Persicaria affinis (Snakeweed); Climbing Hydranea; and Galium Odoratum. And then some surprising plants: Baby Cyclamen; Scotch Thistle; and Hosta “Big Daddy”.
For each of the Unkillables there is a colour mug shot; their habit; a summary of their cultural needs and dislikes; hardiness information.
For the novice gardener this should be an extremely useful resource; useful to the intermediate gardener as a look-see to dig up plants he or she may have overlooked. Especially therapeutic on a nasty winter days.

The one thing I liked about this book is it's palnt directory. Granted, the list is not exhaustive, but the auther does point out some plants that I was unaware of. A good book overall.
