This is such a fun book to read to children. Dr. Seuss was a brilliant writer of these books, it's a joy to share them kiddies - from pre-readers and early readers and on up. Sam-I-Am chases and pesters another character, insisting he try…

Reading this to my kids always involves a discussion about boundaries and trying new things. The Resistor (I don't think he's given a name) likely should have tried something new; we find out in the end, though he was resistant to eating…

All it took, was: this great book, and a little nook, where I lay with the book - on my (arm you know the...) crook. Near my Grandpa’s chessboard, with the nimble rook. Like that I was hooked. Do y’all like to cook?

An absolute classic. Perfect for new readers. A really small vocabulary used really effectively. Great rhythm, great rhyme. Hard to fault. Great to read out loud. Love it.

A classic Seuss tale featuring Sam-I-Am and his reluctant companion who refuses to try green eggs and ham.

Did you know? Dr. Suess wrote Green Eggs and Ham on a bet that he couldn't write a book with 50 or fewer words. The bet was made in 1960 with Bennett Cerf, the co-founder of Random House, and was for $50 (about $382 today). Despite Dr.…

Read aloud to preschoolers through grade 5 and their parents, and this book was a huge hit! The message about trying new things before deciding you don't like them is a good one, of course, but Dr. Seuss is silly enough not to be didactic.
